Avante Care & Support, a not-for-profit care organisation, hosted its annual Sparkle Awards ceremony on earlier this month.
A special occasion dedicated to celebrating, acknowledging, and rewarding outstanding contributions from staff across Avante Care & Supports care and support services.
The event featured 15 award categories, including the "Awesome Deputy," "Star Carer," "Achiever," "Catering Star," and "Best Boss."
The ceremony was held at the Inn on the Lake, situated near Gravesend in Shorne, with over 150 attendees, including staff members, Trustees, and residents. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream of the event was made available throughout the afternoon.
The proceedings began with a heartfelt welcome from Veronica Anthony-David, Director of People & Organisational Development. She extended her congratulations to all nominees and expressed gratitude to the entire staff for their unwavering commitment and hard work.
Managing Director, Stuart Cross, then took to the stage to give an overview of Avante Care & Support's achievements over the past year, recognising and thanking the staff for their vital role in providing vibrant and fulfilling lives to those under their care.
This was followed by a presentation giving overview of Nourish Care Planning and the successful implementation of digital care planning across all of Avante’s Care Homes during the past 18 months by Heather Taylor, Software Support Advisor.
The ceremony spotlighted excellence in care practices within the organisation's care homes and home care services, staff development, and those who consistently went above and beyond to support their colleagues and others.
Home Manager John Ogbe and Regional Support Manager, Rory Stokes, updated guests on the developments of the Hydrotherapy Spa at Amherst Court, an exciting project that the team at Amherst Court proudly won through Avante Care & Supports Innovation challenge last year.
After the awards were presented, the event was concluded by Trustee Gill Gibb, Deputy to the Chair and Chair of the Care and Quality Committee. Attendees were serenaded by the joyful melodies of solo saxophonist Ruth from SAXZSMITH LTD whilst food and drink was served.
Lyndsay Hopper, Marketing Manager and Sparkle Award Organiser, said ‘I am delighted the annual Sparkle Award ceremony was again a resounding success. The ceremony provided an excellent platform to recognise and thank staff across the organisation for their dedication and hard work. Well done to all of the award winners, to those shortlisted and also to those that were nominated for the Sparkle Awards 2023.
