October's Book of the Month

And Still the Music Plays

by Graham Stokes

This little book was recommended to me when I first started having an interest in Dementia.

It’s been read a couple of times and loaned out to lots of people!

It details the stories of 22 people with dementia and sets out to try and explain why people who are living with this awful disease behave the way they do. It’s an essential informative book for people and their loved ones who are at the earliest stages of dementia, and gives an insight almost in what to expect.

It can be hard to read, but it can also be uplifting, educational and a lifesaver when it comes to realising that the odd things that a person with a dementia may do is perfectly normal for them and will help interpret some of what is happening.

As I said at the beginning, it was recommended to me and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to others.
